Shortly after 11 AM EST, Democratic Party Presidential hopeful John Kerry conceded defeat to George Bush - - after apparently abandoning efforts to challenge the election results based on the provisional ballots cast in hotly contested Ohio. Confronted with the prospect of Bush's reelection, the world is already bracing for an escalation of US attacks and violence in Iraq - particularly directed toward Falluja. Anti-war and pro-democracy street protests have already been called for in 35 cities across the US.
Action Alert: In Chicago, a mobilization organized by a coalition of city's anti-war and social justice groups has been called for 5:00 PM today in Federal Plaza, 220 S. Dearborn. [ PDF Flyer ]
