Chicago: A.N.S.W.E.R. Chicago has completely filled and paid for two buses and we are rapidly filling three additional buses that we were able to get for the September 24 March in Washington. If you want to purchase a ticket the cost is now $90 round trip since these three buses cost us more than the original two buses. However, if you want to go you should act immediately.

A.N.S.W.E.R. Chicago will not be able to honor requests for tickets mailed to our PO Box that are postmarked after Friday, September 16. Anything mailed after that date will get to us too late to deposit your check or money order and have time for it to clear the bank. We must have the buses completely paid for prior to their departure. After Friday, you will have to either email us at answerchicago (at) gmail.com [replace (at) with @ ]
or phone 773-920-7545 for instructions on how to purchase a ticket in person.

The buses will be leaving from Columbus Drive between Jackson and Adams behind the Art Institute. We will begin boarding between 5:00 and 5:30 pm on Friday, September 23. The buses will leave at 6:00 pm. The buses will arrive in DC between 9:00 and 10:00 am, Saturday, September 24. They will leave DC to come back to Chicago around 6:00 pm on the 24th and will arrive back at the Art Institute around 9:00 am, Sunday, September 25.

If you are able to mail your check or money order prior to Friday, September 16 here are the instructions: Make your $90.00 check or money order payable to "8th Day Center for Justice". Please write "Sept 24 bus" in the memo section of your check or money order. Please make sure you include your name, your phone number and your email address (if you have one) with your check or money order. If you are buying tickets for more than one person, please make sure we know the names of all the people you are buying tickets for. When we receive your check we will email or phone you with the ticket number/s we have assigned you. We will have a master list of everyone going and what ticket number was assigned to each person. Once at the bus on September 23, you will be able to pick-up your ticket from the “will call table” and board any bus by handing your ticket to the bus captain.

Mail your check or money order immediately (MUST BE POSTMAKED BY FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16) to A.N.S.W.E.R. Chicago, 27 N Wacker Drive, Box #199, Chicago, IL 60606. If you have not received either a call or email by September 21 to let you know your ticket number/s, please call 773 920-7545 or email answerchicago (at) gmail.com.

The only way we can accommodate requests for people to travel together is to get to the bus early. The earlier you get there the faster we can give you your ticket and you can be first in line when the buses start boarding.

If you are unable to go to DC for the March but would like to contribute money so someone who can not afford the full cost of a ticket can go please make your check or money order payable to "8th Day Center for Justice", write "Sept 24 bus scholarship" in the memo section and mail to A.N.S.W.E.R Chicago at the above address.

Re: Chicago S24 bus tickets must be purchased in person with cash after Friday, September 16

Day-of tickets are always available on a first come, first serve basis, at a discounted price (usually about 50% off). Meet buses at 6 PM at the Canal Bus Terminal, 1351 S. Canal (across from the Dominicks grocery store). That's what I did for M20 last year.

Re: Chicago S24 bus tickets must be purchased in person with cash after Friday, September 16

The previous posted comment is very confusing and could mislead people. It gives a different boarding address, among other things. Someone "official" from the bus organizers should set the record stratight on the Sept 14 comment posted here.

Re: Chicago S24 bus tickets must be purchased in person with cash after Friday, September 16

I realize this is late but are there any tickets still available to go to DC, I know of 5 interested individuals, but any tickets available would be greatly appreciated.

Just speaking from past experience in getting to DC mobilisations. I'm sure that ANSWER would be more than happy to take your money up front (ahem...read what you want into that), but if you missed the deadline, this works too. And it's cheaper.

Re: All S24 busses are full!

Instead of posting your question here, the thing to do would be to call the phone number that is listed.

Re: All S24 busses are full!

Damn...I wish we had 2 busloads of dope smokin hippie, socialist scum in my town.

Re: All S24 busses are full!

'Dope smokin's hippies?' Goodness, Sandman, not only are your politics reactionary, your brain is caught in a time-warp too. Now tell us the truth...did you ever inhale back in the daze?

Re: All S24 busses are full!

No Carl, I never inhaled. Didn't need drugs to feel better about myself.

But looking at it....if these professional protesters do....live and let live I reckon. As long as they aren't waking me up on the weekend with their little march.
