Mo Amer is an up-and-coming stand up comedian, who has performed in clubs across the country and on military bases around the world. In July 12th, 2004, he lost his best friend in Afghanistan, Army Specialist John Torres - son of counter recruitment activist Juan Torres. John Torres’ death is surrounded by circumstances that the Army hasn’t been able, or willing, to explain satisfactorily. John’s family, friends, and supporters are looking for truth and justice. Chicago activists invite you to support their demand for justice by coming to this “Comedy for Justice” event, and help to raise the funds needed to finish a documentary film that investigates John’s death, Murder and Heroin in Bagram, by Flamingo Productions. Proceeds will cover film production costs incurred by in Afghanistan. A silent auction will be also featured.
