It is with great sadness that we report the death of our dear friend, Dan Parry. The volunteers who worked with Dan at New World Resource Center will greatly miss his leadership, intellect, sharp humor and warm companionship.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Dan’s parents and siblings.
A mid-January memorial for all of Dan’s activist friends and comradesis being planned. Full details of this event will be posted to the NWRC list serve and to the NWRC web site, [

Daniel J. Parry was 33 years old. A trained paramedic, he was a tireless advocate and volunteer for NWRC, a regular member of the Chicago Socialist Party, an activist for international solidarity with the peoples of Colombia and Palestine, an active IBEW union member, anda lifelong activist for working class causes. Dan’s energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to work with people of all milieus and political persuasions made him unique among the Chicago activist community.
Dan’s insatiable intellectual curiosity was matched only by his love for football (soccer) and his fondness for music.
We also extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Megan McMahon, who perished with Dan in an early Christmas morning automobile accident.
A guest book has been established for Dan at an Erie, PA newspaper,
