The Chicago demonstration is part of locally coordinated protests in cities and towns across the country. Our demonstration will happen on the same day a demonstration will take place outside Posada's immigration hearing in El Paso, TX.
On April 12 Luis Posada Carriles, the notorious anti-Cuba terrorist and killer, appealed for asylum in the United States through his attorneys in Miami. After living openly in Miami for over a month, the federal government, bowing to intensifying public pressure, detained Posada on May 17 and charged him with illegally entering the United States. August 29th will be the date of Posada Carriles second hearing , the first being on June 13th which saw demonstrations all across
the country in opposition to giving asylum to this criminal terrorist.
Venezuela has formally requested extradition of Luis Posada Carriles, to be tried for the bombing of Cubana Airlines flight 455, in which 73 people were killed on October 6, 1976. The Bush administration is so far refusing to honor the extradition treaty between the U.S. and Venezuela, due to the U.S. government's long-standing support for anti-Cuba terrorists. Posada Carriles was a CIA agent, trained in assassination, explosives and sabotage. Posada's terrorist history extends for decades. It is time for justice for his victims.
