His alleged leaks show that both the Bush and Obama administrations have cynically sought political and economic gain for the U.S. while thumbing their noses at gross human rights violations. In turn, the revelations helped spur the North African "Arab Spring," helping destabilize a string of despots who had savagely repressed their peoples for decades.
This short film is from the Free Bradley Manning rally held in Leavenworth, KS on June 4, 2011, outside of the prison where he is held:

Manning's mistreatment by the authorities before he was transferred to Ft. Leavenworth prison bore many of the same hallmarks of homophobically-tinged sexual humiliation inflicted on prisoners at Iraq's Abu-Ghraib prison and elsewhere. Manning's case is one that LGBT's and human rights supporters must champion.

The Gay Liberation Network has initiated a
"Free Bradley Manning" contingent in this year's Pride Parade in Chicago — an opportunity for us spread the anti-war / defend civil liberties messages to literally 1/2 million people who attend the parade. Marching with us will be
Chicago Area CodePINK and
World Can't Wait.
We invite other groups and individuals to join us as well. To participate in the contingent simply go to the corner of Halsted & Diversey (a few blocks east of the "Diversey" Brown Line el stop) at
11 a.m., Sunday, June 26.
Please help spread the word by joining the Facebook event for this action and inviting your FB friends! —
