Hey friends,
Ted from Rochester Indymedia here.
We heard a rumor that Jean Claude Brizard is heading to Chicago to become your new CEO of the CPS. Brizard is a politician and free market flunky and will attempt to sell you even further down the river.
Aside from the links below, you might look up City Newspaper in Rochester, NY and search for brizard--they've done some coverage of these issues as well and have him on the record.
Also check out the Coalition for Common Sense in Education and the Community Education Task Force on FaceBook--lots of stunningly informed parents, teachers, students, and community members. A veritable wealth of information regarding the privatization of Rochester schools, Brizard and former mayor Duffy's roles in that process, education reform, mayoral control, and tons of other stuff.
Also there are videos relating to these topics at Indytv.blip.tv -- rochester indymedia's video channel.
enjoy.
From a Rochester Indymedia perspective (from newest to oldest):
Tomorrow, there will be a press conference tomorrow addressing brizard's departure. It will be featured sometime this week.
