Chicago joins Japan Vigils
Across the nation, Greenpeace organized 160 vigils in solidarity with the Japanese people suffering from the recent earthquake, tsunami and the resulting nuclear catastrophe. A few Chicagoans turned out in front of the Japanese consulate on this chilly evening.
Edta Sitko, of the Chicago Greenpeace chapter introduced the event and speaker, Dave Kraft, Director of the Nuclear Energy Information Service who spoke at the vigil.
