Imagine a space where mental illness isn’t a secret or something you feel ashamed about, somewhere you can candidly admit “I’m bipolar” or “I’m mentally ill” or “I take psychotropic medications” and receive gratitude and understanding rather than awkwardness and confusion in return.

Crazed Chicago is that place.

Crazed Chicago is first and foremost a place where crazies connect.
It’s a place to talk, share, scream, and smile about our “mad gifts”.
It is the future of our community’s much overdue mental health movement.
The insubstantial amount of resources in our large, metropolitan city exemplifies that now, more than ever, is the time to start some commotion!

Our goal is to establish a space where clinically creative minds combine, act, and achieve.

We celebrate neurodiversity.
We offer support and ideas about how to balance wellness and action.
We are not our diagnoses.
We refuse to allow social stigmas to distort our self, and world perceptions.
We want to eradicate psychotic slander from society’s daily discourse.
We believe that our illnesses do not dictate our ability to achieve.
We don’t allow ourselves to hold our diagnoses accountable for our creativity, nor do we dismiss the distinctiveness of our perspectives.
We believe that without life, art is just a bad joke.
We believe that engaging in compassionate connections with like minded individuals is essential to personal, and external understanding.
We want to hang out.
We really want to start starting something.
