Protesters picketed a Sunday afternoon performance of the Batsheva Dance Company in Chicago today, to oppose Israeli government sponsorship of the tour, which opened in Chicago this weekend. Some attendees walked out of the show rather than attend an Israeli government-sponsored cultural event, in solidarity with a campaign that has drawn compelling parallels between the need to boycott Israeli-supported events and the boycott against South African government-sponsored groups during Apartheid in South Africa.
