Resolution to Support Locked Out USW 7-669
Honeywell Metropolis, Illinois Nuclear Processing Plant Workers

Whereas, 230 USW 7-669 Honeywell Metropolis, Illinois nuclear processing workers have
been locked out of their jobs since June 28, 2010; and

Whereas, these workers and their families have faced injunctions on the right to picket and
other repressive tactics by the Honeywell Corporation; and

Whereas, the company with the collusion of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission NRC has
manipulated the testing of new workers to allow untrained replacement workers to pass the
test and enter the plant thereby threatening the workers and the community; and

Whereas, the company with the use of scabs has had documented explosions and toxic
releases including the release of particles of deadly toxic UF6 gas at the plant; and

Whereas, this multi-billion dollar international corporation has operations throughout the US
and throughout the world; and

Whereas, the need to protect the health and safety of the workers and the community at the
Honeywell nuclear processing plant is vital; and

Whereas, the introduction of untrained operators must be challenged,

Therefore be it Resolved the San Francisco Labor Council protests the use of replacement
workers at the plant, particularly untrained workers, and we call for an investigation on the
failure of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and OSHA to properly supervise the
Honeywell Corporation in the operation of the plant; and

Be it Further Resolved we call for an investigation of possible criminal activity by the
Honeywell Corporation in conspiring to violate Federal OSHA requirements and NRC rules
for the introduction of new workers and the tests for their employment; and

Be it Further Resolved we call on Attorney General Eric Holder and the US Justice
Department to investigate these serious potential allegations; and

Be it Further Resolved the SFLC calls for Honeywell Corporation to return to the bargaining
table and negotiate in good faith; and

Be it Further Resolved the SFLC calls for all affiliated unions, Councils, the California
Federation of Labor and the AFL-CIO to concur with these policies and to take labor actions
in solidarity with the locked out USW 7-669 Honeywell workers in Metropolis Illinois; and

Be it Finally Resolved the SFLC will place the link www.usw7-669.com on its website and for all
labor and community organizations to make financial contributions to the 230 workers and their
families.

Submitted by Allan Fisher, AFT 2121; Ray Berard, AFT 2121; Rodger Scott, AFT 2121 and Tom
