LWVIL Debate Excludes Third Party Candidates

Democracy depends on third parties.
The League of Women Voters in Illinois excluded all third party candidates from their gubernatorial debate on October 20, 2010, because polls did not indicate favor for them of at least 10%.

Green Party candidate Rich Whitney, however, considers this an arbitrary and exclusive policy, and has filed complaints against LWVIL with the IRS, alleging partisan conduct.

Since ABC 7 already presented the League's side of the argument, I interviewed the affected candidates to determine their side.

ABC 7's reporting is here.
