While the media mantra continues unabated that there is no link between vaccines and autism, there is little debate among researchers in many disciplines who continue to solidify the evidence connecting the two. Authors Dan Olmsted and Mark Blaxill, take a historical approach in their new book, Age of Autism: Mercury, Medicine and a Manmade Epidemic, as they reach back to the 1930's when the first 11 cases were identified. Their research about the extremely rare condition of these children and the professions of their parents that exposed them to toxic levels of mercury made for a fascinating discussion on Saturday at Northern Illinois University's Naperville campus.
