It's not Bankers ruining you - it's Hookers!
Craiglist. Now Backpage. Led by another elected official from Nowhere, Connecticut the "online prostitutes" are under an all-out assault. Have you seen the press? The attorney generals from a number of states want all the online advertising for adult services to stop immediately. Craigslist, a place to place generally free ads on the internet, has caved already and removed their paying ads from sex workers and the like. Why should we care about this? Good question and thanks for asking.
We should care because it is a First Amendment issue. Suppose that these moral Minorities take umbrage with cartoonists that portray politicians unfavorably? Should an online blog be required to censor this out? Is this China? Specifically on the local issues - do we really prefer to get the hookers back on your street where point of sale is king? Wouldn't they be more restricted if they advertised on the net?
Of course no responsible member of the media has considered that this is particularly directed against women and their livelihood.
And even better Why is this an issue when people are losing their homes and food banks are starving for donations?
