Protest SB 1070
We Are All Arizona / Todos Somos Arizona
Stop SB1070! Fight deportations!
Thursday July 22, 7:30pm
4750 N Sheridan
On July 29, activists around the country will stand in solidarity with the people of Arizona and say no to the racist law SB1070. This law legalizes racial profiling and is intended to terrorize the immigrant and Latino population of Arizona. Although the Obama administration has filed a lawsuit against SB 1070, only a mass campaign of grassroots protest can really defeat this law and win justice for the working people of Arizona.
At the same time, immigrants in Chicago are under attack. ICE and the local police collaborate to detain and deport immigrant working people every day. Thousands of families are bring broken apart every year. But activists in the Moratorium on Deportations Committee are fighting back and building pressure in the streets to protect communities.
Come to this meeting on July 22 and discuss the fight against SB1070 in Arizona and the struggle against deportations in Chicago. Translation will be available.
On July 29, join other activists as we protest outside Cook County jail in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Arizona and in detention.
