Matt Sezer’s (OPRF ’09) 20 minute documentary film examines community resistance to the FDIC’s takeover of Park National Bank, a philanthropic community bank in Chicago and Oak Park.
Too Good to Fail? is Matt Sezer’s (OPRF ’09) documentary film about the FDIC's seizure of Park National Bank, a philanthropic community bank in the Chicago area. The film follows a group of community members that travel from the west side of Chicago to Washington DC to attend a congressional hearing on the takeover. Through congressional testimonies, interviews, and spontaneous speeches, individuals and organizations helped by Park National's charitable efforts tell the story of the resistance to, what they consider, an unjust takeover, calling it, "the largest bank robbery in the history of the United States."
