Support Ollie on 2/25

Ollie faces up to 5 years in prison on his 2/25 sentencing date, all for participating calmly in last year's big anti-war demo.
On March 14th, 2009, Ollie Anthony was arrested at an anti-war protest in Chicago. He was suddenly snatched out of the march and charged
with Aggravated Battery on a Police Officer. Based on every non-police account of the march, and the footage that is available the arrest was entirely random – a small, but terrifying gesture
directed against anyone who has ever been on an anti-war march. At his ninth or tenth court date he was convicted, and no one attended besides his parents. Ollie is now facing up to five years in prison.

Ollie needs your support! Please come to his sentencing on February 25th, 10am, at the courthouse located on 26th and California, room 506. Other ways you can support Ollie include sending donations, letters, care packages, jokes, poetry, pictures, or anything you can
think of to:

ollie.anthony (at) gmail.com (email first to give a heads-up and to get a physical address for any actual packages)

It is important that we offer our support to those facing state repression, not only because they are threatened with prison, isolation, and
intense stress, but because charges like these are also intended to intimidate any of the rest of us who ever consider taking to the streets.

If you know Ollie, please consider writing a letter of character recommendation addressed to his judge, Diane Gordon Cannon, urging leniency. Write Ollie an email with any questions you might have, and send all potential letters to him first.
