With the escalation of the Afghanistan / Pakistan war by President Obama, the anti-war movement is entering a new era with new challenges.
After many voting Democratic last fall failed to curb the wars, it is incumbent upon our movement to work out different strategies, build its own resources and unite with new forces so that we put an end to this slaughter.
Towards this end, on Saturday, December 19th all anti-war organizations and individuals are invited to participate in an open organizing meeting to plan springtime Chicago-area anti-war action(s).
This is a one-person, one-vote planning meeting. Nothing has been decided in advance, except to hopefully bring together the various forces in our movement, new and old, in united actions. Please bring your ideas and proposals to the organizing meeting:
2 PM - 5 PM
Saturday, December 19
At the offices of the 8th Day Center for Justice
205 W Monroe Street, 5th floor
Chicago (wheelchair accessible)
Due to security arrangements for the building, please do not arrive earlier than 1:45 PM or later than 2:15 PM. If you absolutely must arrive later than 2:15 PM, someone will have to come downstairs to let you into the building.
Please help spread the word about this planning meeting by joining the Facebook Event set up for it, and invite your friends:
