Next Action Against the Escalation of the Afghanistan War
Bring All the Troops Home NOW!
Fund Human Needs, NOT War!
Chicago follow-up protest to Wednesday night's action:
12 Noon, Saturday, Dec. 5th
Federal Plaza (corner of Adams & Dearborn Streets, Chicago)

During his speech on Tuesday night, President Obama firmly committed his administration to a course on the Afghanistan war which is directly at odds with the wishes of the overwhelming majority of those who voted for him, not to mention a majority of American and world public opinion. And moreover, like in Vietnam, the thoroughly corrupt, drug-ridden regime he has chosen to support is detested by most of the people it claims to represent.
Those who said that voting Democratic would bring an end to the wars in the Middle East and South Asia have been proven wrong. Politicians have never stopped wars, except through massive death and destruction.
If we are to stop such tragedies in Afghanistan and Pakistan, we must rebuild an anti-war movement which not only protests the war, but resists it.
Wednesday night's action in conjunction with 100 other cities was an important first step in that direction. On Saturday we have an opportunity to include many more people who do not work, live or go to school near the Loop.
We need your help in spreading the word about the next step against this war — Saturday's action at Federal Plaza. Because of the way Facebook's event function works (or doesn't) for multiple events, we need you to indicate your attendance at a new event we've set up, rather than using the old one for Wednesday, Dec 2nd.
Here is the URL for the new, Saturday, Dec. 5th action:

Please sign up to attend on Saturday and send invitations to all of your friends!! THANK YOU!
