Good lessons in 'talking back to the media' can be learned from the current successful right-wing campaigns.
The right-wing activists have a well-organized media strategy without any significant comparable strategy by progressives. And the right-wing protests are getting great coverage by the corporate media that they keep calling 'liberal'.
The organized coordinated disciplined activists are all too successful at intimidating the media and making it seem that rightist views of government economic decisions and healthcare are very widespread.
