Protest Chicago's Air & Water show Sat.-Sun. Aug. 15-16
Greetings:

Please join our 17th year of nonviolent protest against Chicago's Air & Water Show. Over two million persons come to the Lakefront for this event, the largest public event in the country.

For two days, people from all over the Midwest are inflicted with this glorification of military weapons. But this is NOT family entertainment. It is a military commercial for recruiting our young, enormous military budgets and the promotion of military might.

Join us to say "NO" to the Air & Water Show and "YES" to life giving activities. Come for as long as you wish.

We will gather at the east end of the pedestrian bridge which crosses Lake Shore Drive about two blocks north of North Ave.

9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Saturday - Sunday, August 15-16

We banner and leaflet those attending. To see last year's leaflet, visit

www.8thdaycenter.org/resources/leaflets/08_0812%20A&W%20Show.pdf

I am attaching the formal outreach leaflet as well as a map of our location at the beachfront.

IMPORTANT: If you can't find us at the event, call Bob Bossie at 773-494-1421 or Hooshi at 312-307-4226.

Please join us and let others know of our protest. You may wish to use the attached leaflet for this purpose.

You are invited to demonstrate with us to help bring about a world of peace, justice, care and love – a world without injustice and war – for our families and all families. According to the War Resisters League, the military/Pentagon will spend over $670 Billion in Fiscal Year 2010 PLUS $300 Billion for nuclear weapons, recruitment, retirement, etc. That’s nearly $1 Trillion, over $2 Billion a day. This treasure should be used for life giving activity, not life taking. We all need to give some of our time to create such a world. If not now–when? If not here–where? If not us–who?
