Why Conduct Torture Inquiry When We Could Just Torture Them?

Why not just beat the truth out of them?
Some Democrats are pushing for a torture inquiry.   There has been a call for a special prosecutor to investigate the war crimes of the Bush Administration.  I support a move to charge the decision makers and enablers of the Bush Regime with war crimes, but why bother with an investigation when a simpler solution is available?  Why not torture them instead?

Sure, torture is not the most reliable method of obtaining information, but it is cheaper than a real investigation.  As much as we value the truth, isn't revenge even sweeter?  Apparently that was the thinking of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and their cabaret of law whores.  I'm sure that these persons of interest would agree that torture is the best option available.

First off, they could be “rendered” to foreign soil where they would enjoy no rights.  A bevy of Central Intelligence Agency or Defense Intelligence Agency perverts could be assembled to do the honors or we could just do the American thing and outsource the proceedings.  Imagine the sound of one official after another having his head slammed against the concrete walls of a torture cell, the sound of a Bush official gurgling beneath the flow of water while being waterboarded, or one of their lawyers standing naked for days on end without sleep.  Heck, we could finance the operation by putting the delightful scenes on pay-per-view to the tune of Matador .

It won't matter whether they confess or not.  In a case like this, the means will justify the ends.
