MEETING: APRIL 16, 7 p.m., "Marx Is Back-How Socialist Ideas Can Change the World"
From George W. Bush to the AIG executives, the people who run the world economy are now widely seen as greedy and corrupt. Meanwhile, the world economic crisis continues to wreak people's lives.
Increasingly, people are returning to the ideas of Karl Marx to explain the crisis. Paul D'Amato, author of The Meaning of Marxism, will also examine Marx's ideas for destroying capitalism and building a socialist alternative.
