Chicago-area trade unions held an Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA) rally on February 17, 2009. Over a thousand trade unionists voiced their support for EFCA, overflowing the old Plumbers Hall west of the Loop, while many workers had to stand in the lobby listening to the speeches.

The EFCA , if passed in Congress, will strengthen employees’ rights to form a union and help restore the living standards of the working class.

Speakers appearing in the video are: Michael Carrigan, Pres. Ill. AFL-CIO; national AFL-CIO President John Sweeney; U.S. Rep. Danny Davis (D-Chicago); Laborers' International Union of North America President Terence O'Sullivan; Anna Burger, Change to Win labor coalition; and others.
