Please join CCR Staff Attorney Gitanjali Gutierrez in Chicago on March 3, 2009, to discuss "Closing Guantanamo and Moving Towards Justice." Gutierrez, the first civilian attorney to go to Guantanamo Bay, will speak about her clients and the ongoing struggle to close Guantanamo and secure justice for its victims and survivors. In the face of the new executive orders by President Barack Obama to close Guantanamo, Gitanjali Gutierrez will lay out what is necessary to close the prison camp swiftly and effectively.

She will also discuss the Center's 100 Days Campaign, which calls for a broad restoration of the Constitution and pushing back against abuses of power like those at Guantanamo and other secret and arbitrary detention sites.

The event is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by the National Lawyers Guild - DePaul chapter, the National Lawyers Guild - Chicago chapter and the Center for Constitutional Rights. We look forward to seeing you at this exciting event..
