The horror of Israel's invasion of Gaza mounts daily. The 1..5 million people of Gaza, an area approximately the size of Chicago’s south side, are fenced in on all sides and are being subjected to a brutal military assault from land and air. Civilian casualties are in the thousands; over 700 have been killed so far. Food, medicine, and fuel are blockaded. Journalists have been banned. Israel has declared this to be a "war to the bitter end." The United States has backed Israel both with new, sophisticated military weaponry and with full diplomatic support.

We are witnessing Israeli war crimes against the Palestinian people. Silence in this situation is complicity. We must speak the truth and strengthen and broaden the political resistance now.
