Learn about ecological resistance in south Florida - Be inspired for eco-anarchy in the Midwest - Get ready for a hot winter !

A slide show and talk from Everglades Earth First! (EEF!) featuring action stories, media perceptions, photos and videos presenting this unique watershed, its social landscape and the growing eco-anarchist presence in the 'glades bioregion.

The FTAA in Miami introduced a lot of radical grassroots organizers from around the country to the perplexing world of south Florida. Many witnessed the militarized police state and vowed never to return. But those of us living here were bonded together by the mobilization experience and continued building local resistance with a renewed spirit.

One evolution of that process was the growth of an Earth First! movement here in the swamps and coasts of south Florida. This presentation will be a story-telling session of our efforts in challenging local real estate development and industrial infrastructure, focused primarily on the massive expansion of Florida Power & Light's (FPL) energy empire in the Everglades. We will also touch on some of our work towards building indigenous and immigrant solidarity and community autonomy in our local neighborhoods.
