Anyone wants to discuss anarchist theory? Form a book club focused on anti-authoritarian politics?
July 9th 7pm Wednesday to start?
So here is the deal - I haven't seen any open, public places involving anarchists doing out reach to people. I could have been just too busy and not looking hard enough.
Anyways, I was involved with Azone long long time ago and was wondering if anyone wanted to get together and form a discussion group.
In my head it looks like this - we pick a topic, or a book and then discuss it.
Meetings could start at Mercury Cafe at 1505 w. chicago ave one block east of Ashland.
It has hosted things like Critical Mass art shows, anarchist movie thingies and art shows and houses the anarchist "library".
It could serve as a way to hold discussions, see where the anarchists are at in the Chicago are and so forth.
So if you are interested sent me an email at

(dont forget the underscore)
Disclosure - i own mercury cafe. I consider myself an anarchist. no i don't run the cafe according to anarchist principles or really repressive principles, for that matter. you can question that if you wish.
Wed, July 9th 7-9pm Topic of "modern Anarchist thought in Chicago." Decide on any exciting anarchist books for next meeting? every month? every 2 weeks?
Just a suggestion to get the ball rolling.
EMAIL ME IF YOU ARE INTERESTED!
If someone wanted this to lead to something more like planning for stuff then it can be that too. Just looking to see whats going on.
