AJLPP Salutes the 35th Year of the NDFP
On behalf of the Filipino American community in the United States and all its allies, we in the Alliance Philippines (AJLPP)consider it fitting and proper to extend warmest greetings to the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) in celebration of the 35th anniversary of its founding on 24 April 1973 when its 10-Point Program was unfurled and promulgated.
We share in the Filipino people's jubilation that the NDFP has won great victories in the application and development of the policy and tactics of the united front in advancing the people's democratic revolution against foreign monopoly capitalism, domestic feudalism and bureaucrat capitalism in the Philippines.
The AJLPP is aware of the fact that the NDFP is the most consolidated and most powerful united front of revolutionary forces in the Philippines. The NDFP, together with the broad legal united front of opposition forces, is working hard to oust the brutal, corrupt, anti-national, and anti-people puppet Arroyo regime.
The broad masses of the people expect that even as the broad legal united front does not yet succeed in ousting the Arroyo regime, the armed revolutionary movement will continue to gain strength and advance against the crisis-ridden semi-colonial, semi-feudal ruling system in the Philippines.
We in the AJLPP are aware that the success of the all-round international work of the NDFP will depend upon the victories of the revolutionary movement in the homeland and the resolve, militancy and competence of NDFP personnel abroad.
The AJLPP also remembers the errors of the sel-styled "NDF" councils formed in the United States ahead of the victory of the movement in the Philippines during the early 1990's. The same people who commited these errors are those who are rejecting the movement and are in connivince with other forces.
But in general, the national democratic and progressive movement is one with the NDF in pursuing the peace talks, working for the welfare and interest of the FIlipino American community and for a long lasting just peace with social justice.
The success of the NDFP can doubtless be attributed to correct political leadership as well as the efforts of countless martyrs and heroes like Tony Zumel, Alex Orcullo, Atty David Bueno, Emmanuel Mendoza, and many others. In the United States, we also remember patriots like Ester Soriano, Silme Domigo, Gene Viernes, Papo De Asis and many more. The selfless sacrifices of comrades cannot be diminished and should not be forgotten.
The Filipino people also need the solidarity and support of the people and progressive forces abroad. The peoples of the world need to unite and support each other against imperialism and reaction.
The AJLPP wishes the NDFP more power and success in working to surmount the basic problems of the Filipino people for a truly just and lasting peace in the Philippines. #
