All Out for April 26 Chicago Protest: Mumia Abu-Jamal Must be Freed Now!

There will be a United-Front Protest this Saturday, April 26 at noon on Federal Plaza (Adams and Dearborn) in Chicago. The demands of the rally – Mumia Abu-Jamal is Innocent! Free Mumia Now! Abolish the Racist Death Penalty! — have been endorsed by over 300 individuals, organizations, and trade unions representing hundreds of thousands of workers, including Amalgamated Transit Union Locals 241 and 308 in Chicago. Expected speakers in Chicago include Mumia’s daughter Goldii, Partisan Defense Committee counsel Rachel Wolkenstein, who served on Mumia’s legal defense from 1995 to 1999, WVON radio host Cliff Kelley, Gay Liberation Network co-founder Andy Thayer, civil rights attorney Standish Willis and immigrant rights activist Jorge Mujica.

Mumia Abu-Jamal is a MOVE supporter and renowned journalist, an innocent man, framed up for his political beliefs. In addition to the April 26 Chicago rally, united-front protests will also take place in Mexico City on April 24; and L.A. on April 26.
