Join Robina Suwol at the Whole Children, Whole Planet Expo 2008

Two-Day Event Features Exhibits, Special Events and Family Fun!
Three Stages, Natural Foods, Celebrities, Experts and Interactive Performances
Join Robina Suwol of California Safe Schools, www.calisafe.org at the Whole Children, Whole Planet Expo, the premier natural parenting and family expo, taking place May 17-18, 2008 at Highland Hall Waldorf School in Northridge.

Learn how California Safe Schools (CSS), a nationally celebrated children's
environmental health and justice coalition founded in 1998, successfully spearheaded the most stringent schools pesticide use policy in the nation, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), at the Los Angeles Unified School District. IPM uses low risk methods to eradicate insects, weeds and other pests, eliminating a major source of indoor and outdoor pollution. It was the first in the United States to embrace the "Precautionary Principle" and "Right to Know" about pesticides used on school campuses.

The policy led to the Healthy Schools Act 2000 and AB 405, which prohibited the use of experimental pesticides in California schools. Today this policy has become an international model for schools and communities.

Explore an eco-village filled with hands-on learning experiences; visit the STAR Eco-Station's award-winning walk-through rainforest; learn about sustainable living practices, science (solar and wind power, etc.), music and art -- an adventure for all ages.

Other highlights of the weekend include environmentally safe and natural products; a food court with healthy, tasty treats; 200 exhibitors; raffle giveaways and three stages with education and entertainment.

Whole Children, Whole Planet Expo takes place 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Sat. and Sun., May 17-18 at Highland Hall Waldorf School, 17100 Superior St., Northridge, 91325. For information, call (818) 781-8989 or visit www.wcwpexpo.com
