Col Ann Wright appears at Barbara's Bookstore at 1218 S Halsted Tuesday April 15 7:30 PM and in Federal Plaza that afternoon at 1:00 PM
Col. Ann Wright, one of the leading voices of the movement against the Iraq war and occcupation, will visit Chicago on April 15. Ann will speak at the AFSC Tax Day event in Federal Plaza beginning at 1 PM. That evening, she will discuss dissent and the price it entails at Barbara's Bookstore, 1218 S Halsted at 7:30 PM. Ann's new book, Dissent: Voices of Conscience, details the stories of those, like herself, who have put everything at risk to oppose this illegal and immoral war.
After a distinguished 29 year military and diplomatic career, Ann Wright resigned her post in protest on the eve of the Iraq war. Since then, she has has become one of the leading figures in the movement to end the war. Come hear one of the most engaging and inspiring peacemakers of our time.
