Watch Film of M19/20 This Saturday Nite @ Decima Musa

This Saturday night watch video coverage of anti-war actions on the 5th anniversary of the Iraq War.
Labor Beat and the Chicago Indy Media Video Collective have kindly donated their footage to be shown at a benefit for the "Bush 4" protesters arrested during President Bush's visit to Chicago in January.

The event begins at 8 PM, Saturday at Decima Musa restaurant/bar, located at 1901 S. Loomis in the Pilsen neighborhood (accessible via the "18th Street" Blue & Pink lines el stop). Suggested donation is $20, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Marching past the State of Illinois Building (James R. Thompson Center) on Wednesday night, en route to the city's wealthiest district, The Gold Coast.

Also shown on the 64 square foot screen will be a retrospective video of anti-war protests in Chicago going back to 2003 to the pivotal march of 15,000 people on Lake Shore Drive at the start of the war, and the 800+ false arrests committed by the CPD later that evening.

About the "Bush 4"

On Monday, January 7th while President George Bush was visiting downtown Chicago, four anti-war activists were arrested as Bush left the exclusive Union League Club following his meeting with Mayor Richard Daley, Cardinal George and a coterie of wealthy businessmen.

Charged with disorderly conduct are Buddy Bell, 25, of the Gay Liberation Network, Kevin Clark, 57, of the Chicago chapter of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), and Jeff Pickert, 19, of ISM.

Andy Thayer, 47, of GLN is charged with aggravated battery on a police officer – a felony. The ridiculous aggravated battery charge carries a potential 7 year prison term and/or up to $25,000 fine.
