Chicago Independent TV in Mar. – Get ready for M20 with memories from last year’s protest, Video and Civil Rights, Albany Park Neighbors, and More

ON THE SHOW THIS MONTH:

New Show Open – Check out our new look as we unveil a new opening for Chicago Independent Television.

2007 Chicago Peace March Memories - Last year, more than five thousand people marched down Chicago's Michigan Avenue in the city's premiere protest for peace. As we prepare for this year’s event, we take a look back at the 2007 Michigan Avenue march.

Film Is Not A Crime - Across America, political actions of all kinds have come under assault. In this segment, we follow one incident in Washington State involving a citizen, a military depot, the police, and a handheld video camera.

Video and Civil Rights - What are the consequences of videotaping in a politically charged situation? In this segment, we will learn about video recording and civil liberties from attorney Jerry Boyle.

Albany Park Neighbors for Peace - Although protests and marches with tens of thousands of people draw most of the attention, they rely crucially on ongoing smaller-scale efforts. In this segment, we visit one community group on Chicago's north side.

Kucinich Sing Along at Art Institute - During the recent political primary season, a great many progressive campaigns used clever ways to reach the voters. In this segment, we look at a Christmas sing along held in downtown Chicago.

WHO WE ARE:
We are the Chicago Indymedia Video Collective. We operate along the same lines as Indymedia, fostering the same ideals and processes. We are a collective of media producers, activists, videographers and concerned citizens offering your alternative to mainstream corporate coverage of local and international events, movements and expression. In the summer of 2003 the idea of an independent television show, free from corporate bias and serving the needs of the community, was conceived. Chicago Independent Television is the result of that movement.

Our mission is to provide YOUR CORPORATE NEWS ALTERNATIVE.

PLEASE JOIN US!
Our Video Collective meets at 7PM every 1st and 3rd Monday, sometimes at the IMC headquarters, 3411 W. Diversey in Chicago, though we often change meeting venues - please contact us if you're planning to attend a meeting.
