CLASSICAL DRAMA MEETS CNN
A production of Oedipus the King with a multimedia twist

On February 15th, at the Bailiwick Arts Center, Big Brother Productions will raise the curtain on its performance company with the dramatic classic by Sophocles. However, unlike many previous Oedipus productions, the chorus will not be appearing on stage with the cast. Instead, they will comment on the action of the play as mass-media representatives on television screens adorning the stage.

In the world of this Oedipus the chorus members are slanted, unprofessional and trying to sell a point of view. The performance will be used as a springboard to critique opinion-based news outlets during these times of increased partisan bickering.

Oedipus the King opens February 15th at 8pm. It runs for four weeks, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8, Saturdays at 7 and Sundays at 3, closing March 9th. General admission is $20, for students, $15. For tickets call 773.883.1090.
