Chicago's largest animal rights protest and the kick off of the anti-fur season is coming up. 11/23/07
Each year, tens of millions of animals on fur farms around the world face a grim reality. After a lifetime of captivity, these animals have nothing to look forward to but death. Be it by anal electrocution, gassing, clubbing or any other barbaric method used, the end result for every animal raised for fur is the same. All for nothing more than an outdated status symbol. All for nothing more then fashion.
But there is hope for every one of these suffering individuals on fur farms or any other place where animals are oppressed. That hope is every one of us! Don't sit by and watch as these animals suffer and die. Don't be a bystander to their suffering. Get up, get active and get on the streets to demand freedom for the animals. Start with Fur Free Friday!
Come out the day after Thanksgiving and raise your voice for these victims of vanity:
Fur Free Friday March
Friday, November 23rd
Daley Plaza (100 W. Washington) at Noon
Signs, leaflets, bullhorns and everything else you need will be provided (although more signs and bullhorns never hurt!). Just bring some walking shoes, a friend or two, you voice and passion to speak up for those who can't speak for themselves.
Afterwards of course we will also be having our annual post Fur Free Friday bash with Chicago Soy Dairy. ADL Chicago is only $500 short of our goal to get our new video van up and running and hopefully this event will take us over the hump. The event will be pay what you can and no one will be turned away for lack of funds, but we do ask that you be generous.
After a short walk to a nearby park (150 E. Lake Shore Drive) we will be grilling out on the vegan grill, enjoying some post march hot cocoa, playing some sports and holding our second annual cold weather ice cream eating contest with prizes for the fastest eater!
Lastly, if you're coming from the suburbs or out of town, be sure to check out our forums for info about ride sharing!
See you in the streets!
-ADL Chicago
P.S.
Last year we had 150 people come out and send a powerful message, this year we would love to see that number grow. Tell your friends.
