Open Call for Submissions

The editors of the forthcoming monthly newspaper would like to encourage the writing and submission of articles for publication. We will be accepting submissions on a rolling basis. Submitted articles that we select for publication will be printed in issues for which the article's length and content are best suited. Articles that we would like to publish but for which there is no immediately available and suitable space will be kept on file until we can find a place for them. Proposals for articles are also encouraged.

We hope to create a calendar within the newspaper for events of interest in the Chicago area, such as lectures, seminars, conferences, reading group meetings, etc. Submission of listings and brief descriptions for such events will also be accepted on a rolling basis.

The mission of this publication is to provide an ongoing public forum wherein questions may be raised and discussions pursued that do not otherwise find a place within existing discourses on the Chicago and international Left. As long as submissions exhibit a genuine commitment to this project all types of content will be considered. Articles can range in length from 500 – 1,000 words. We will consider longer pieces but would prefer that they be submitted as proposals.

All editorial decisions, whether they concern length or content, will be discussed with and approved by the writer.
