Democracy is dead. Voting fraud is common place. The Lame-stream media continues to spin out lies and deception. But I am still going to vote in 2008. Do I think it will suddenly change the world if my candidate wins? No, I know that the issues we face are much larger then that and I know that any candidate worth voting for risks being brushed aside by the media and cheated out of a win by corrupt voting machine.
But still I will vote. And right now I am in the process of switching my "Party" to Republican so I can help get Ron Paul onto the Republican ticket. If you gasped at reading this on an Indymedia sight, then you are not paying attention. Google Ron Paul. Search him in Youtube. Check out his myspace. He is the the underground alternative media candidate that has hundreds of thousands of supporters from across the political spectrum. And his success has been so viciously suppressed in the Corporate media, from Faux to MSNBC, that my spider senses are telling me that he is scaring the Neo-Con Beejesus out of the fascist right wingers and dopey Democraps.
Admittedly, I don't agree with every position he takes but that is the cost of UNITY. Both sides have to compromise and find common ground. Ron Paul appears to be just that. He is trying to reinvent the Republican party, redirect our failed foreign policy and reconfigure America's Frankenstein like federal government. Who wouldn't support those goals? But I am not here to campaign for Ron Paul. Even if he wins the Primary, I may vote against him if another candidate can show me why I should. And I still think the Corporation control government needs to be pulled apart and Democracy recreated by people working on the local level for change. After all, voting should not be the surface salve that we apply to our conscience.
Check out some general info below and please take a second to watch some of the clips of Ron Paul at the Republican debates on Youtube. Watching Neo-cons squirm as one of their own conservative kin smacks them down is a beautiful thing.

Ron Paul was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Gettysburg College and the Duke University School of Medicine, before proudly serving as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force during the 1960s. He and his wife Carol moved to Texas in 1968, where he began his medical practice in Bazoria County. As a specialist in obstetrics/gynecology, Dr. Paul has delivered more than 4,000 babies.

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.
He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.
Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.
