Nurses, doctors, frontline caregivers and immigrant and disability rights activists joined forces today with Cook County Commissioner Roberto Maldonado to denounce patient dumping at Oak Forest Hospital.

Health Bureau Chief Robert Simon is closing Long Term Care illegally, Maldonado stated. Though he has yet to recieve an official word from the state's attorney, the Commissioner will ask for a moratorium on unit closures and patient transfers at tomorrow (tuesday June 5th)'s Board meeting.
