Chicago Independent TV in May: Boeing Protest, Chiditarod, Impeachment Trial, and more

ON THE SHOW THIS MONTH:

Breaking Up With Boeing - Since moving it's headquarters to Chicago in 2001, Boeing has been the subject of increasing attention by local activists. An Indymedia video activist whose father works for Boeing joins the protest, demanding that they stop providing military weaponry for profit. He also reflects on what it's like to have this same company put food on his table through his childhood.

The Chiditarod - A number of Chicago-area Burning Man participants helped organize a winter
race in Chicago which served as a food drive for area charities. In this segment, we learn more about the shopping-cart race known as the Chiditarod.

Impeachment Trial Street Theater - On International Human Rights Day, December 10th, 2006, Chicago area activists gathered in front of the Art Institute of Chicago. They organized a street theater performance of the impeachment trial of George W. Bush, as we'll see in this segment.

Latoyia Kimbrough Interview - Latoyia Kimbrough is a Chicago high school student and the leader of her Junior ROTC group. She has always been interested in the military but disagrees strongly with the policy of the United States in regards to Iraq. This lead to some interesting conflicts when it came to her consideration of weather to go to college or the military after high school, as we'll see in this next piece.

WHO WE ARE:
We are the Chicago Indymedia Video Collective. We operate along the same
lines as Indymedia, fostering the same ideals and processes. We are a
collective of media producers, activists, videographers and concerned
citizens offering your alternative to mainstream corporate coverage of local
and international events, movements and expression. In the summer of 2003
the idea of an independent television show, free from corporate bias and
serving the needs of the community, was conceived. Chicago Independent
Television is the result of that movement.

Our mission is to provide YOUR CORPORATE NEWS ALTERNATIVE.

PLEASE JOIN US!
Our Video Collective meets at 7PM every 1st and 3rd Monday, sometimes at the
