Andy Bichlbaum, ½ of the social and political satirist duo The Yes Men (
www.theyesmen.org) will show video footage of the pair’s recent projects since their self-titled film and will discuss how their “pranks” expose corporate and governmental malfeasance while furthering social justice and human rights.
“With poker-faced impersonation as their weapon and World Trade Organization officials as their target, the Yes Men pull off one bold prank after another in an effort to raise political consciousness. And where their stunts are actually swallowed—hook, line, and sinker—the Yes Men must up the satirical ante and push the art of public spectacle to hilarious new heights!”
"Urging humanity to wake up before corporations make this impossible, The Yes Men are the most vital force in guerrilla performance since Abbie Hoffman."
—Douglas Rushkoff, author of Media Virus
"This is Jonathan Swift for the Jackass Generation, a combination of devastatingly intelligent critique with slapstick hilarity."
—Naomi Klein, author of No Logo
“ascended masters of media hoaxing, sociopolitical pranking, and Tactical Embarrassment”
—Mark Dery, author of The Pyrotechnic Insanitarium
