Feds Attempt to Censor Twin Cities Indymedia

On January 5th, members of the Twin Cities Indymedia Collective were contacted by an ally at the out-of-state university that hosts the site's server, informing us that "law enforcement" was demanding that we remove two posts from the site.
From the Collective's contact at the university:

"The Office of General Counsel [at the university] was contacted by federal authorities about the fact that an FBI agent was named publicly on this website, which is of significant concern as it could be a threat to national security and to the security of this officer.

"The specific reference is in a comment embedded after the article [ twincities.indymedia.org/newswire/display/29202/index.php ]
that names Millicent Tempe as the FBI agent."

The Collective asked that the university request an explanation for the Feds' demands. The Feds were unable to produce a legal argument for removing the post, and at the time of writing, have not responded to the Collective's request.

This heavy-handed attempted censorship adds insult to the injury of FBI intimidation tactics in Minnesota. But these tactics will fail. We will publicize every move the state makes to marginalize dissent in this city, this state, and this country.

For every enraged voice they seek to silence, a hundred more will make themselves heard.
