Student Led Grassroots gathering

The seventh & eighth grade students of Jungman School in Pilsen are getting involved in their community. For the last quarter, students have been researching and discussing various social issues that affect their neighborhood and city. Some of these issues include Immigration, HIV Awareness, Gentrification, School Violence, Graffiti Art, War in Iraq, and Global Warming.

In addition, students will also be performing in drum circles, break dancing, and reading poetry. If you are interested in supporting grassroots activism, celebration of culture, and young people who are interested in becoming leaders of local and global movements, please come out and see what these students have to offer.

The gathering will be held at The National Museum of Mexican Art (1852 West 19th St.), Saturday, February 3, 2007, from 12:00 - 4:00 pm. For further information, you can contact Jungman School at 773 534 7375. Admission is free/donations welcome. We hope to see you there!
