Mon. ACTION ON HUD by Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign

POVERTY AND INADEQUATE HOUSING ARE HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS!! On Monday, December 11 at 10 a.m. join with the Chicago Chapter ofthe Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign at the offices of
Housing and Urban Development (77 W. Jackson). We will be demanding: *That HUD involve residents in decision making, management and oversight *Improved maintenance and security at HUD properties,
*Regular accountability meetings with resident organizations *All meetings regarding our housing be open to residents.Each tenant council will also be delivering a letter to Joseph Galvan, Midwest Regional Director of HUD,
about specific concerns at our buildings and demanding to set up a meeting with all groups togetherto address systemic issues at HUD. We choose this day to honor the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
in which it states clearly that people are entitled to adequate housing,basic necessities of life and a living wage. HUD and the U.S.government are in violation of this declaration and must be heldaccountable.
Join us as we demand our human rights!!! The Chicago Chapter of the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaignis made up of Student/Tenant Organizing Project and The Coalition toProtect Public Housing and other resident's organizations and friends.
