As much fun as it is watching sexual hypocrisy in the Republican controlled Congress and what looks to be a criminal cover-up of said sexual hypocrisy within the ranks of the Republican Party leadership in Congress the real scandal is not the consensual e-mail communications between two sexually adult individuals, and what we will probably later find out to be actual underage sexual hookups between representative Foley (R)- Florida and some more than willing teenagers and then of course the criminal cover-up on the part of House Speaker Denny Hastert. No the real scandal that should be all over the news is the fact that the Congress with the help of 12 Democratic senators voted to flush habeas corpus and send a bill that will be signed with what I am sure will be a lengthy signing statement on the part of our soon to be Congress anointed dictator, George W. Bush.

However what enrages me even more as a person with legal permanent resident status in America as I am an immigrant from Canada - is that in this twisted and sorted scandal that saw habeas corpus flushed down the Congressional toilet after being repeatedly raped, peed and shat upon for everyone in America to see right there on the floor of the House and Senate and for what we now know to be the entire time Bush has been in office is that there is now a clause in the bill that is going to George Bush's desk that specifically singles out immigrants suspending habeas corpus for individuals like myself.

In other words, is now- some right wing moron can simply decide he doesn't like my writing and wants to get rid me - all he or she has to do is secretly sign a piece of paper declaring me an enemy combatant and I will be arrested and disappear into a publicly unknown mysterious world of congressional supported suspension of habeas corpus which means I can not challenge my arrest or detention in court and then can be legally tortured in order to extract a false confession that they can then splash all over the media when they need a PR event in order to steer public opinion against those evil Canadians and their monopoly in Canada on clean, fresh water.

What is more disgusting than the fact that the following list of Democratic Senators joined in on the raping of, peeing and shitting on and then flushing of habeas corpus down the Congressional toilet is the fact that the Democratic Party is now willing to allow the Foley scandal to consume all of what little reasonably breathable air there is available in the corporate media instead of using that airtime to fight for habeas corpus before this very important election where the public will probably become overwhelmingly convinced of the deliberate conspiracy on the part of corporate America, the corporate media, the Pentagon, Congress and the White House to steal elections.

Clearly the Democratic Party is embarrassed about the 12 Democratic senators that voted with the Republican Party to give George W. Bush an official Congressional sanctioned dictatorship over America by crippling the third branch of government the so-called independent judiciary but that is no excuse to nail your soul to such a lame scandal such as the closet homosexual Republican house member probably consensually banging congressional pages and that closet homosexual Republican house member's pals in the house attempting to cover it up at least until after the primary season so that district republican voters in said closet homosexual Republican house member's district would be spared what would have been a year or two to transcend the fact their rep is gay and probably is banging teen age boys.

Clearly removing habeas corpus rights from legal permanent residents is an attempt to intimidate those that have not yet become citizens from participating in - but yet feel they have the right and the obligation to use their so-called legal immigration status to fight for fellow immigrants - in the public protesting of what is clearly a human rights violation based in white supremacy and racism - the forced deportation of so-called illegal immigrants by first arresting those immigrants who are clearly from south of the Rio Grande on minor misdemeanors which places them in a system deliberately created by local authorities in cooperation with federal authorities at the Immigration and Naturalization Service that then places those immigrants in concentration camps built by Halliburton on the footsteps of the U.S. Mexican border where said immigrants will be held and prepared for mass deportation back into South and Central America.

It is very clear to me that Margaret Atwood when she was writing The Handmaid's Tail twenty some odd years ago she was actually channeling the future or what is now becoming the present. By flushing habeas corpus down down the Congressional toilet the Congress has handed the White House, the Pentagon and the intelligence community the legal ability to bypass Congress and the courts and therefore the ability to intimidate absolutely anybody that stands in their way.

In other words just as public figures such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Lou Dobbs of CNN are exposing the election theft conspiracy, Electronic Jim-Crow in the national print in The Rolling Stone and on national television on Lou Dobbs' 6 p.m. weekday show on CNN - that has been deliberately put in place to ensure a compliant Congress and White House - Congress flushes habeas corpus down the toilet in the so-called Detainee bill which one: protects George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, the Joint Chiefs and the intelligence community bosses from prosecution for previous human-rights violations and war crimes using torture and secret prisons way outside the Geneva conventions but two: gives the federal government the legal ability to gather information without independent oversight to build a threat to national security case against anybody in complete secrecy and also allows the federal government the right to continue legally using secret prisons to legally torture so-called suspects labeled a threat to national security. All this accomplished just as a major backlash from the American public is getting off the ground. A backlash that can now be legally crushed by simply secretly labeling leaders of lets say street protests that block traffic therefore slowing the economy down as threats to national security.

At least one progressive democrat has it right. Molly Ivans writes:

"The bill also expands the definition of an unlawful enemy combatant to cover anyone who has “has purposefully and materially supported hostilities against the United States.” Quick, define “purposefully and materially.” One person has already been charged with aiding terrorists because he sold a satellite TV package that includes the Hezbollah network.

The bill simply removes a suspect’s right to challenge his detention in court. This is a rule of law that goes back to the Magna Carta in 1215. That pretty much leaves the barn door open."

The real scandal with Rep. Foley in my mind is if he didn't use a condom when banging congressional pages. The real scandal with the Congress is that they are hiding behind the Foley scandal after raping, peeing and shitting all over Habeas Corpus and the Constitution.
