Poor People's Millennium Movement Tells Mayor Daley: "DON’T PUSH THE POOR OUT OF THE CITY"

The Poor People’s Millennium Movement and the Student/Tenant Organizing Project (STOP) are calling a press conference at high noon on Wed., Oct. 4 at City Hall in front of the Mayor’s Office about the continuing displacement of poor residents from the Chicago area. We want the city to address:

> Unfair section 8 rules making it impossible to find housing
> The threatened displacement of 500 families at Grove Parc Plaza Apartments in Woodlawn
> The city’s failure to meet the housing needs of the poor

"Mixed income housing we hear you say… But the only people who can live there are those who can pay!"
