HELP STOP US INTERVENTION AGAINST VENEZUELA

Join the Week of Community Meetings to develop an Emergency Response Plan against US intervention in Venezuela
***PLEASE FORWARD WIDELY***

WE WANT YOU!

Join the NATIONAL WEEK OF COMMUNITY MEETINGS IN SOLIDARITY WITH VENEZUELA AND AGAINST US INTERVENTION!

The Venezuela Solidarity Network is asking grassroots organizations around the country to endorse this effort by holding community meetings during the third week of, October, 2006. The purpose of these meetings will be to formulate local Emergency Response Plans in the event of a
critical intervention by the US against Venezuela. Each community will be asked to come
up with a local plan of action, and to choose a
representative to help consolidate these plans into a National Emergency Response Plan.

THE TIMING FOR THESE MEETINGS IS VITAL.

Elections in Venezuela are scheduled for December 3. The United States government has already sponsored an unsuccessful coup against the elected government in Venezuela, and the Bush administration is actively stepping up its inflammatory rhetoric against Venezuelan
democracy. Venezuela is a beacon of hope in today's world against imperialism. We must be prepared to resist US intervention there, and to defend this light of hope in these desperate times.

If your organization would like to take part in these meetings, please contact us at:

VSN (at) afgj.org

Let us know when and where your community meeting will be held, and give us your contact information. We'll post it on the VSN web page at www.vensolidarity.org

After you've held your meeting, send us the name and contact information for your local representative so we can invite her or him to join a national conference call to create the National Emergency Response Plan

If the third week in October is problematic, please feel free to schedule your community meeting at the best time for your community. However, meetings should be wrapped
up by October 21 at the latest.
