Rally for Mumia - Oct 13th

Rally - Mumia Abu-Jamal is an Innocent Man! Free Him Now! Abolish the Racist Death Penalty!

October 13th, 7 PM
United Electrical Hall
37 S. Ashland (at Monroe) in Chicago
Former Black Panther Party member, MOVE supporter, and acclaimed journalist known as Philadelphia’s “voice of the voiceless,” Mumia has been on death row for over 24 years, framed for the shooting of a police officer. The courts have refused to hear the confession of Arnold Beverly that he shot the cop, and that “Jamal had nothing to do with the shooting.” The life of this innocent man is in grave danger as the state seeks to reimpose the death sentence in what is likely the last round of legal appeals. It is necessary to reignite mass protest against this racist and political frame-up.

Hear speakers including Cliff Kelley of WVON, Stan Willis of the National Conference of Black Lawyers, Mike Elliot of UAW 551, Bernard Branche of the Labor Black Struggle League and Erica Williamson of the Partisan Defense Committee.

Sponsored by the Partisan Defense Committee.
