Nonviolent Direct Action
Local event in the Declaration of Peace Week of Action. The American Friends Service Committee is assembling 100 or more volunteers to dramatize the daily reality of Iraqi civilian casualties. Noon at Federal Plaza, Dearborn and Adams Streets.
International Day of Peace
The Illinois Coalition for Peace and Justice is planning hours of activities in observation of the International Day of Peace, including meditation, prayers, speeches, leafleting, petition signings, and music. Noon to 9:30 p.m. at the Petrillo Bandshell, Grant Park.
Not Another Mother’s Son
Three generations will call for an end to the Iraq war in the northern suburbs.

WCW Organizing Meeting for Oct. 5

Candlelight Vigil/Interfaith Rolling Fast Culmination
The Interfaith Rolling Fast launched on Hiroshima Day will conclude with a peace vigil sponsored by the North Shore Coalition for Peace and Justice. Anthony Giachinno’s documentary on the landmark legal case involving the so-called Camden 28 — a group of anti-Vietnam war activists arrested in 1971 in a draft board action.
