OUL presents "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" the film that won the Silver Hugo Award at the 2003 Chicago International Film Festival. This riveting documentary film shot as it actually happened covers the failed right-wing coup in April 2002 against the popular government of Venezuela lead by its charismatic President Hugo Chavez. The film while portraying events in Venezuela in 2002 should be a cautionary tale for all Americans on the use of how television can be used to deceive and manipulate the public. OUL welcomes Deputy Consul Omar Sierra from the Venezuelan Consulate in Chicago who will lead a discussion following the film showing.
